Nature + Nurture
Energized by the healing that I experienced through functional medicine and feeling a world of gratitude, I am compelled to share so that all beings can feel the same and live an optimal life.
Although a daily work out, being food conscious, and having a spiritual yoga practice is part of my DNA, I found myself struggling with fatigue, depression, weight gain, and unfulfilled in my career in my late 30’s. I wondered, how could I be feeling this way when I had just made an exciting move to California where there was a plethora of new experiences awaiting me? Enter functional medicine and coaching! It wasn’t until months later, a day when I was out of sorts on my mat, when my yoga teacher approached me with business card of a functional medicine doctor. By working with this doctor we were able to uncover my hormonal imbalances, attend to my out of control cortisol levels driven a stressful corporate job, and fine tune my diet for optimal health. And my mercury levels needed to be addressed! Needless to say this was quite a process in mending all of these issues, but with patience and grit, coupled with adjustments in protocols ( and attitudes), I started feeling whole again!
Energized by the healing that I experienced and feeling a world of gratitude, I was determined to pursue an education in wellness and health. It was a calling, one that I felt compelled to share so that all beings can feel the same and live an optimal life. So enrolling and completing the ADAPT Health Coach training program set me on my way.
…and with a heart filled with compassion, as I have been there, I am here to help you too!
How I stay healthy
My daily workout (or now that I am aging, my daily movement regime) is non-negotiable! My mental health as well as my heart health is a daily priority.
Yoga and breath work brings an awareness not only to my body, but to my spiritual well being… and nothing brings a sense of accomplishment like nailing that problematic asana!
Food is yummier when it feeds me as fuel, and when it is intended to prevent chronic disease.
Hiking in nature is the BEST form of meditation.
